Debrecen University Symposium 1st Congress on Sustainable and Innovative Solutions in Agriculture and Food Industry – One Health approach

The University of Debrecen, Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science and Environmental Management - adapting to today's scientific challenges - formulates both its training and research activities according to the circular bioeconomy model, which is based on the recycling of materials and values, by increasing the added value of the produced product, through services and smart solutions. It is especially important for us to maintain a wide-ranging system of professional and economic relations with the enterprises of the region, which, on the one hand, provides the conditions for practical training and, on the other hand, helps to utilize the scientific results created at the University. Following the good example of our predecessors, we try to provide students with up-to-date and practice-oriented knowledge, so that they can enhance and improve the reputation of our institution and Hungarian agriculture.

On the occasion of the 155th anniversary of the foundation of agricultural higher education in Hungary, we are launching a series of conferences, which we intend to organize every two years in the future, in a traditional manner, each time, but always with themes related to the main objectives.

We invited prominent actors of the international academic life, who are most relevant to the theme of the given year as speakers. The special theme of the conference in 2023 is related to the 'One Health' conceptual approach, and we will involve 1-1 nationally and 1-1 internationally renowned researchers from the fields of plant, animal, food, and environmental sciences in the lectures given at the conference.
