Colloquium on Finsler Geometry and its Applications

Hereby we report that the Colloquium was successfully completed.
36 participants from 10 countries (Hungary, USA, Czech Republic, Netherlands, India, Japan, China, Romania, Spain, and Turkey) attended the four-day international conference, where more than 30 presentations were given.
On the 100th anniversary of his birth, the conference also commemorates Professor Lajos Tamássy, the former head of the Department of Geometry, who was a worldwide known and recognized authority on differential geometry, including Finsler geometry, and enriched the field with many significant results.

First Announcement
We have the pleasure to inform you that during the period 12-16th June, 2023, a
Colloquium on Finsler Geometry and its Applications
will be held in Debrecen, Hungary, organized by the Department of Geometry, University of Debrecen, Hungary, in cooperation with the Debrecen Branch of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
The scientific program (13-16th June) is devoted to lectures given by the participants and invited lectures on various fields of Finsler geometry and applications to mathematical physics, and other fields.
At the conference we will also celebrate the 100th birthday of the late Professor Lajos Tamássy.
On behalf of the organizers we have the pleasure to invite you to this Colloquium. We would be glad if you contributed to the success of the Colloquium by a lecture, or simply by taking part in the discussions.

Participation fee of the event is EUR 80 per person and EUR 60 for accompanying persons. This fee covers the expenses of the organization, the abstracts and some social events (welcome reception, an afternoon excursion, and a farewell party). The location of the Colloquium is Debrecen, the second biggest town of Hungary, situated in the eastern part of Hungary. The distance of Debrecen from the capital, Budapest is 220 kilometres, and the town can be reached smoothly by intercity trains, or by car. The conference venue is the new Learning Center of the University of Debrecen. Details on board and lodging will be given in the Second announcement
