20th International Conference on Chiroptical Spectroscopy

We are honored to announce the upcoming 20th International Conference on Chiroptical Spectroscopy (CD2025), which will be held on 25th-28th August, 2025 at the University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary. The sessions of the four-day conference aim to bring together leading scientists, young researchers and industry experts to discuss the latest advancements and innovations in the field of chiroptical spectroscopy. Topics consists in but not restricted to chiroptical techniques, computational methods, their application on the structural elucidation of natural products, polymers, biopolymers, supramolecular systems, and nanomaterials, applications on kinetics and dynamic systems and on surface chemistry.

The CD2025 has many anniversaries to celebrate. This is the 20th conference in the series and in 2025, the conference celebrates its 40-year anniversary since the foundation of CD spectroscopy series by Günther Snatzke & Nina Berova in 1985, Sofia, Bulgaria. The CD2025 is dedicated to the 100-year anniversary of the birth of Prof. Koji Nakanishi. Special sessions are planned to celebrate the 100-birthday anniversary and enduring legacy of Prof. Koji Nakanishi, a legendary scientist and inspirational leader in the field of natural products and spectroscopy. 

The conference also aims to gather former members of Koji’s group and his respecters to cherish his memory together. We will remember the organizers of the previous CD meetings in Hungary; 2nd and 9th International Conference on Chiroptical Spectroscopy in 1987 and 2003, Márton Kajtár, Miklós Hollósi and Sándor Antus who already passed away.

We welcome Ben L. Feringa Nobel laureate and Nicholas A. Kotov Chirality medalist as distinguished speakers of the conference together with many other invited renowned researchers of the field.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Debrecen, Hungary at the CD2025 accompanied with traditional hospitality, cuisine and sights.
