11th International Plant Protection Symposium at University of Debrecen (online session), 11th IPPS (= 29. Tiszántúli Növényvédelmi Fórum, 29. TNF)

 

Targets of Symposium:

Discussion and analysis of new challenges arising from global and local environmental and social changes in the fields of plant protection and food safety.  Analysis of the effects of the intensive geographical spread of pests, presentation of new, modern, sustainable plant protection opportunities.  Presentation of the research results of eminent domestic and foreign researchers, teachers, plant protection companies, and university students. Promote the practical application and widest dissemination of the latest plant protection research results.

Fields of Symposium:

  • Results of recent plant pathological, entomological, and weed research
  • Effects of global and local environmental and social changes on plant protection. 
  • With or without chemical pesticides?  Would the efforts of the international "green lobby" really create a healthier, greener, more abundant, and more livable world?
  • Results of recent pests research on arable, horticultural, and forestry crops (plant pathology, entomology, weed managing, and biology).
  • Plant hygienic and food safety risks during global trade (increased spread of invasive species)
  • Global effects of general and economic policy on the food supply of mankind.
  • Changes in pest management techniques (trends for decreasing pesticide usage, IPM, developing alternative strategies).
  • Opportunities and obstacles in the application of modern techniques (nanotechnology, drones, etc.) in crop protection.
  • What should be preferable, either local food production or global food treatment in reflection of ecological footprint? Challenges and future.
