The 10th International Plant Protection Symposium at University of Debrecen, 10th IPPS (= 28. Tiszántúli Növényvédelmi Fórum, 28. TNF 

24-25-26-October 2023

 

Targets of Symposium:

Getting acquainted with the latest results of the Plant Protection s.l., including food safety, global climate changes, and their ecological consequences, the geographic spread of pests, the recently developed and/or up-to-date opportunities of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) both in traditional and ecological farming. The results will be introduced by eminent researchers, university teachers, pesticide developers of business companies, and students from abroad and at home as well. Promotion of new methods and practical usage of recently introduced issues.

Fields of Symposium:

  • Results of recent plant pathological, entomological, and weed research
  • Pests on arable, horticultural, and forestry crops 
  • Plant hygienic and food safety risks during global trade (increased spread of invasive species)
  • Global effects of general and economic policy on the food supply of mankind
  • Changes in pest management techniques (trends for decreasing pesticide usage, IPM, developing alternative strategies)
  • Opportunities and obstacles in the application of modern technics (nanotechnology, drones, etc.) in crop protection
  • What should be preferable, either local food production or global food treatment in reflection of ecological footprint? Challanges and future.

The official languages of the Symposium:

  • 24 October (at 13.00-16.00 UTC + 1.00) Online Researchers’ Meeting: English (exclusively) 
  • 25-26 October Programmes: alternatively bilingual (English and Hungarian)
